Holden is a GM company, so the similarities will be there. Australian muscle cars tended to be fairly raw in many ways, probably very similar to American muscle cars of the same era. Not like the cars of today. Fast and handle and stop but not a lot of character, no real hard edges. The 60s and 70s were the best times for muscle cars.
My first guitar for a few months, a three string in D. The car is a classic Australian Muscle car, the Monaro. sounds pretty cool. This one will be for sale.

yup on the cool. Looks a lot like a US Chevy Nova SS. A crazy friend took me for a terrifying ride in one, circa 1970.
