Thanks for the nice comments! Hal, the bottom tail and scroll are from a solid piece of cedar that was ripped to the thickness of the box. I sanded it to remove blade marks, then grabbed a small cobbler ball/pen hammer and beat in the desired distressed look. Then i sprayed black paint onto it and sanded it off.
John, This is the 3rd build with the tail, i like it and will continue to use it on occasion. The scroll curl is from a drafting guide. The rusty reso piece was purchased at an Estate Sale, look like they are tractor and/or implement parts( i bought 3). It sits fairly comfortable, but i don't play, so someone who does would be better to judge! Thanks D

I'm a scrolloholic. Most excellent!
LOL!
LOL! One of my favorite lines,"If if doesn't fit, use a bigger hammer!."

LOVE IT!!! THat is just too damn cool for words!!!!
Love that add-on! How'd you get that texture in the scroll and end stock?
This is a one of a kind. I like it. Can you describe some of the parts? The tail, curl, rusty reso? How's it sit in the lap?
