  • Good job and materials.  I like a fretless git that I can do some finger noting on, especially up toward the head stock.

  • The body is Norway Spruce, and the neck through is Meranti. The only types of wood they had in my local hardware store. The electronics are from an Les Paul replacement kit, the tuners are the cheapest, vintage looking I could find, and the pickup is a Shadow SH661, which is switchable to single coil. I broke the tone pot when I tried to put the knob on. Are there different sizes in potmeters and knobs, or was I just being too brutal? Soldering (my first time ever) was a nightmare, but I learned many lessons that I'll never forget;) My first intention was to just build a slide guitar, so the action was quite high, but I liked the tone when I pressed single strings as well, so I looked around for a suitable fretboard, and ended up with a metal ruler that I used when I was a kid doing technical drawings. Thanks for commenting and being nice to the new kid in town!

  • I know it plays and sounds good from the video.   Tell us about the finger board and other materials.
