High bridge cbg with rod piezo and preamp.

This one is my first experiment with a four band equalizer. The neck is cherry. The fret board and head veneer are oak. It has a radical back angle of 5 degrees and a 1 1/4" high bridge.

  • Thanks so much and funny timing.  I just got home from a short work day.   Getting together to play music with a friend.   Looked at that git and saw how easy it would be to screw up using silicone.   Heading for the dollar store for a brush right now.

  • Uncle John, try what I did. Get a wide foam brush. Break the foam off the handle- it should split up the middle. Use a razor knife or box cutter and a ruler to cut about a 1/4" strip for each side of the equalizer. Lightly glue it to the equalizer and then mount the equalizer in the guitar. The two strips act like a foam gaskes on each side with no mess.
  • I have one in a factory built tenor and it sounds great.   The matchup of equalizer to guitar side body is not so great.   That mostly falls on me.  I need to get some silicone and fill in the bad match.

  • I took that one out to play last night and we put it through the PA system. It just sparkled. I have another one of those units and a standard guitar waiting to be electrified. I may just put that unit in it. I am right pleased.
  • I like a lot about this one.  Kind of a bird house look to it and the woods and that headstock.   I like the equalizers.  I have done that one like yours and the flatter, smaller one Gitty sells for ukes- which works fine on cbgs.
