  • good man. one thing that helps with the kettls is to strengthen the hole as it will bend. either strip straight thru. or as im doin wid the next one is to put just one long bolt thru the center. rings like a ding aling. you can also weld a heal on . that really helps. good luck tho bud.
  • Yeah, they'd have to be cigar box amps and really, really small guitarists but I like your analogy!  It does have a ground zero sort of look to it!

Good to hear from you again Squid man.  I was gonna tell you that I picked up a copper bottom tea kettle yesterday at the flea market.....gotta try a kettle git like my friend Squid!  (Some day)

  • heh heh. welcome to ground zero.... enuf room to fit the entire stage set , amps, pa and at least 3 guitarists. nice ...:)
  • Young feller!  hehehehehehe  young feller!  I like the sound of that!  Haven't heard it applied to me in quite some time though!  Born in '50 huh?  Well you're still wet behind the ears yourself!

Lookin' forward to it!  See ya there Unc!

  • JP,  I thought you were a 'young feller'.  My 50'  license plate guitar has the '1950 license of my birth year.

That rusty plate you have looks just right.

Will probably see you in KC.

  • Nope.  Born in '58.  The plate I've got just happened to be a 1941 vintage is all.

Oh sure....we've had cars in Minnesota since the teens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 41' were you born in 41?  I don't think they had cars then!
  • Ha!  Maybe I should take that joke advice out?!  Just in case?  What do you think?  I'll have towait and see if you're correct on the tone opinion!  Got a nice, rusty 1941 Iowa plate laying around?
  • Bad advice.   Good start.  Should be strong.  You need and Iowa license plate for best tone.
