I sawed about 1/4" off the backside of the head with a hand saw to make it a bit lighter, more delicate looking and give better penetration of the tuner shafts.(insert crude remark here, I know you want too! )

Thanks for posting these. I've been dying to try this and now I have a better idea how. One question. Just gluing is enough to keep the ears on even with the tension of the strings pulling on them?
