Nah, I know where the frets are! and yes simple is good. I'm definately not a skilled craftsman, so the simpler the better! I'm actually a diesel mechanic, but I like building things, mainly rc airplanes but building and playing these certainly has grown on me. I should add everything is done by hand! the only power tool I really use is a sander, cutting and shaping is all done with a coping saw and a razor plane! Oh I also use a dremel for trimming the frets
