My wife found this old cigar box at an auction. It was pretty beat up, so I wanted to do a rustic looking Gitty. I did some burning on the neck and left a rough sound hole.

    I have used paint and or carefully blackened them just a bit with a candle.  Take care, those knobs can melt.  

    Black paint craft paint and then rubbing some off has worked.

    Thanks Uncle John. My wife and daughter said the same thing about the bridge. I went to great lengths to age the neck but left the bridge brand new. I appreciate your honest feed back. How would you age the tuners? That had never occurred to me.

    Good stuff.  But once again.  To my eye the saddle does not match.   Paint that nut black.  Fix or just paint the saddle and age the tuners.  Takes it from nice to WOW>
