Guyatone lap steel with some of my new batch

This little Guyatone really rocks. It's Teisco pickup is Hot! My flat and Steven's bars work great on it.

  • I've found most all of the old lap steels from the day are quite small instruments. My Harmony Consolette is big, but it's the extra wood needed to hold the legs that make it big. My Teisco and this Guyatone are quite small. I've got to try the Guyatone shape and size on my next build. It will be fun to see what you come up with Jabes.
  • mm,i made a 24" a while back but it's a bit big to sit on my lap, , think i'll make another.....

  • Close Jabes, it's a 20 1/2 inch scale. It's the simplest design you could make. Single plank of wood with the bare minimum of extras. She sounds great. I've got her in C6. Using one of my Steven's style bars on her through a Vox amp. with some reverb. Sweet screamer.
  • nice picture, all cool stuff, what's the scale of the guitar ,looks about 20" or so.
