Thanks to the good folk here at Cigar Box Nation, I decided to try using a license plate off a car I used to own as the box top. Gives a sharper "resonator" sound than wood or paperboard. Piezo pickup but no volume control at present. Aluminum tailpiece and nut. Pecan neck with Brazilian cherry fretboard.
