Haven't been in the shop much in the past few weeks due to weather. I started this project a few weeks ago and finally finished it today. This is a very unique build. The body is made from a hollow core door and the "pot" is made from the lid of a holiday popcorn tin. The neck is recycled red oak and edged with bamboo from Ikea bed slats. It is strung with Irish Tenor banjo strings, but the scale length is 24.5" like a guitar. It is tuned to Irish Tenor banjo tuning. So, I guess it is an "Irish Tenor banjotar. It has a nice mellow tone and is very playable. It is going to the "Antique and Artisan Plaza" in Williamstown, Ky. tomorrow. If anyone is looking for a custom one-of-a-kind instrument, this is the one for you. I promise you won't find one like it anywhere.
