The Grey Parrot custom build is finished and arrived at a very happy customer!.This one is made out of a very solid Pickwick tea box. I adjusted the box and put new hardware on it. The guitar has a thinner neck than my previous builds, made of beech. The fretboard is American walnut with sidedots and stain as position markers. Brass frets and brass parts all over the instrument. Handle and legsupport on the sides. The legsupport is made from African mahogany as well as the wooden parts on the op and bottom. All wooden and brass parts are handmade. It has a control plate of brass and rosewood painted black with a matching jack plate. I handpainted the front and back with a design the customer liked. The back has an image of the customer's pet, a Grey parrot. Painted from a photo he sent me. The headstock has pieces of walnut too, 3 golden tuners and a parrot on there. The nut is made from antler bone and the bridge is a combination of rosewood, walnut and a brass bullet shell. The guitar has 2 pickups, a 3way switch, 2 volume controls, tone control and a onboard distortion effect knob with 4 stages of distortion. Happy with the result, and with the very satisfied customer!.Shipped it with a Keychain and wall hanger for his guitar, and some walnuts and an apple for Loui, the parrot!
