My take on a three-string, fretless CB Mandolin with about a 12" scale. Piezo PU under the bass side of the bridge with a capacitor soldered in to act as a lo-pass filter.

The perforated metal piece (tailstock) is from a folding vegetable steamer (from the dollar store.
The steamer is a perf. sheet metal disc about 6 inches in diameter with about 18 of these pieces hinged to its edge. That center disc makes a right purty grill for a dobro-type instrument, too. check: www.amazon.com/Stainless-Vegetable-Steamer-Basket-Insert/dp/B00KYDZHSI

That is sweet and cute as heck. Dave Lynas sent me a tail piece like that with some slides I bought. What is that tail off?
