I've had thin walled gourds crack under the pressure of the head tightening so I used some extra bracing on this one.

  • Upon further review, maybe I'll just find one on eBay.  Less involved.  :)

  • Oh one more thing, I've seen them grown in a form so they have flat surfaces with thinner bodies.

  • It does take some time Daniel, not just to grow them but also to dry them. My friend hangs them from a rafter in his barn for about a year I think he said.

  • Hey Daniel, I get some from Ebay but the shipping is usually more than the gourd itself. This one was grown and dried by a friend who gifted me with it. I like this shape because you can get two instruments from it.
