Glass Bottle Neck Slide (stumpy)

Attempted to cut my own stumpy glass bottle neck slide today. with great success, It came out perfectly! So much nicer to use than my old stainless steel one. Will definitely be making some more.A stumpy I find a lot more use full as you can slide the strings without touching the others if you want.It enables me to get a bit more technical when I play.

  • I cut mine with a wet tile saw fitted w/ a diamond blade, I can crank out quite a few in a short period of time. I buffer the rough edges with the saw and then finish them with a dremel with a diamond grinding stone. I am going to start taking them to the guy that does my glasswork as he said I can use his wet sander to really make the edges shine.

  • Thankyou maddog.

This is my first attemp like I say and was pleased with the results.but need to perfect the cutting a bit.

How do you cut your glass?

Thanks for tip on the best type bottles to use.

  • Good lookin' slide Man! I make my own and also make them to sell.  I with ya on the stumpy's, they seem to be easier to use for me also. I use Cavit Wine bottle's for most of the one's I make as the glass is quite thick.
