Future Slides

Rescued 70 feet of this old glass tubing from a local dairy before it got broken up! Approx 1 1/4" diameter with 3mm wall. Perfect for slides I say, and enough to make about 280 of 'em!

  • Coolest thing    u did good!!
  • Good news - its not pyrex, so it cuts nice n easy.

Bought a new disc for the saw and it flies through it BUT its still a bit messy, leaving too much polishing to be done.

Next Il make a jig that holds a normal glass cutter, score the tube on the jig and then tap it from the inside to give a nice smooth break. Thats the plan anyway....

Failing that Il need to invest in a disc sander with a water bath.

  • Another good score :) - well dose it cut better or worse than you thought ?
  • First one off the saw just this minute! I need to make up a jig for a neater quicker cut though, then maybe invest in some polishing kit...
  • Cool.  Nice thick walled stuff.  Pour your self a glass of milk and start cuttin and polishin.
