  That's a really nice bullet bridge. I'm leaning towards preserving the art work and flipping the box and putting in a reso cone.

  I've got a date box (cigar box size) that's redwood. It's going to be my next uke build. It has a beach scene on the lid (sand, palm trees, etc.) so I thought the sound hole should be offset and be the sun about to set. At least that's my current thought.

  That's good to hear! Hopefully it turns out well. This box is a little bigger than your average cigar box so I briefly comtemplated putting a reso cone but it would have obscured to much of the picture on the box.

  Read wood is great. Good light wood. I've built with redwood "sinkers". From logs pulled out of water. You will like the tone. Beautiful box!
