great thinking, i tried somthing along those lines but my bolts had a course thread no good for for fine tuning , but that was when i listened to a freind before the "there are no rules " sunk in, like it a lot .
Well, I just used what was laying around. I built this with a coping saw, Gerber utility knife and a hand drill. She sounds nice without the bottom on but very quiet, when I put the bottom on much louder even without a sound hole yet. I'm still undecided about soundhole placement and size so I didn't want to ruin a good old walnut desktop cigar box. Many refinements to go, but I just had to hear her sing!

I was thinking about maybe in the top side, straight up at me.
Cool. I have uses player side - side sound holes with fair to good success.
