  • Thank you. Obviously, we're thinking alike, because it should not touch, but it just hits. Interestingly, my plan was to have a friend who does bodywork clearcoat the mahogany. it took him three tries and it didn't work, because there was glue under the fretboard (same wood) and he was baking it. (it bubbled) (drag). but the end result is that there are about 6 coats on the inside of the holes and it's like rock. so it won't cut in (much) and the tension there is constant so the tune won't change. (like where the string comes up through the wood on the bridge end) I also could have moved the pegs off center to give me more room. thanks for letting me run on, i put a bunch of thought in it.

  • I must have looked at thousands of headstocks, but this one is very neat. I like this a lot. Does the middle string miss the wood, or is there enough hieght in the nut to clear it?
