  Peter, if you use scrap wood, it doesn't need to cost a lot. The Chinese gear on ebay is quite reasonable. The most expensive part is the mechanical tuners. They are $60. Pegs are cheap but the reamer is $40. I like the sound of a cello, deep and mello.

  Nice Dave! Always wanted to learn to play the cello, but it's kind of an expensive instrument, so it never happened. Maybe I should try to buld one of those :)
