Fretting made easier

Ok you can drull if your still using a coping saw.all for under a dollor. Hope another scratch off hits.id like a thinness planer and band saw.

  • (if you bought their miter box that goes with the template, it has the pin integral to the box, I think)

  • The first notch is the nut.  Align that template notch on the provided pin (drill a small hole and insert the pin in a piece of wood attached to your mitre box) and align the fingerboard on the template so that the saw in your miter box is right at the end of the fingerboard where the nut would be.  Then, slide the template to the left to the next notch and cut a slot for a fret.  Slide the template left to the next notch and cut a slot for the fret.. Lather, rinse, repeat.

  • Where is the starting point.
  • I've been using that stewmac metal template for a couple of weeks now, with a jig I built for my old radial arm saw.  I can now cut absolutely perfect fingerboards in about 90 seconds.  One of the best purchases I've made in a long time.  You're gonna love it.
