I used cedar for the fretboard on this, and it also fought me every step of the way. If the customer had not wanted to use cedar, I would not have. Nor will I ever again. Despite the beautiful grain patterns, it's very soft for fretwork. Additionally, I had a mysterious chip appear in the early stages which has since been solved... but like I said, this fretboard fought with me every step of the way.
