Overall

Pretty happy with the way this one turned out, despite the fact that it fought against me every step of the way. Features a walnut neck, cedar fretboard, cherry bridge, Artec AB2 preamp, 20" scale tuned to open G.Yes, those are yard flamingos in the background. Hopefully they don't mind the cold.

  • Never seen a Colorado flamingo? You should travel.
  • Cool build Nathan...aint no Fender...but, yer friend should be very pleased....good stuff as always.
  • I do not recommend cedar as a fretboard at all. It's very soft, so the frets don't really grab the wood very well: I had to glue most of the frets in place. And it's delicate! You can't see it (or feel it when playing), but the fretboard mysteriously decided it wanted to chip on me right before the second fret. I was able to sand most of it out... but I will not use cedar again. The only reason I did on this was because the wood belonged to my friend's late grandfather, and has sentimental value to him.
