fret box

took a couple days, but only spent a couple hours on it. I think it turned out ok...have yet to try it out.There's grooves in the base board. One side is fixed while the other slides in grooves notched in the base. I did that so I could do different width boards, and the bolts help keep it straight and tight

    Spencer - I'd like to use these pics in the expanded fretting how-to guide I am working on, as an example of a homemade slot-cutting miter jig. I would of course attribute them to you/here. That OK with you?

    Definitely considering something of the sort. It's one of the hardest jobs, I find. If you do it by hand, as I've been doing, there's a natural tendency to "round" the fret slot; to make it deeper on the ends than in the middle.

    Also it's surprisingly easy to have your saw jump out of the slot and scar your fretboard.

    Nice job!!! That'll come in handly . I've yet to put any frets on my builds YET.. like the saw
