2 strings. I cut the top off with a utillity knife leaving a little metal (1/4") to burnish the raw edges back into the can with a screwdriver. Very strong rim. Neck was sculptured to fit the can and is about 3/8" from the end of can bottom. The can's seam has 4 small panhead screws holding it firmly to the neck.

Thanks, you tend to do the same with your builds. I tend to ramble a bit.......... I do try to use the least amount of pictures and as much info as I can cram in, who knows, maybe someone will be inspired to make this simple Canjo.
