Focusing on a Better Headstock Design

This shot shows my teardrop shaped "hoop" still in the forming jig, but without clamps. The two ends of the teardrop hoop re being held together by a combination of wood blocks and seven "slats" of trim wood. The seven slats of trim wood were cut to 8.5" in length to approximate the dimensions. In the end, I decided to go with 6 slats because of machine tuner placement concerns.
