Comparison of my new Flying V sound box (right) to my standard paddle box dulcimer (left). On my next build I'll make the tail-block a bit wider to spread out the side boards further, and the wood I construct it out of will likely be laminated trim wood maybe 2/3s as thick as I used in the current tail-block.
