Wow so you're just a regular guy like the rest of us, another fitter and turner, you fit a bunch of discarded junk together and turn it into something useful.
Let me know when you're sick of using the calculator, I may have a spare digital counter kicking around.
Hi Elmar and forum members, Elmar I do much of my own pickup winding and I'm intrigued as to what sort of jig you needed to make to allow you to wind these little suckers
hi Wes, all the magnets are oriented into the same direction. I use wire of 0.07mm thickness, which would correspond to "AWG 41" I think. The total resistance of both coils together is 2.9k Ohm; divided by 4.442 Ohm per meter, this would give 650 meters. Per winding it's 0.13 meters, so this gives 5.000 turns.
The output is very good and rich in crispy tones. I gonna make a sound clip this evening.. c ya, Elmar

Hi Walt, there's no such jig, just a plate in a drill to mount the blank. check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM59pOA27vw

I opened a blog where the building sequence is explained in detail:

Getting there is have the fun...;-)
Looks real compact.......can't wait to here it. 8-)

Are your magnets oriented in the same pole direction or are they alternating N/S? Any ideal on how much winding you did?
