First tremolo build, cbg #63

Well this one was a challenge, but less difficult than I had anticipated. Oh, right, details, shmee-tails....Johnson bolt-on fig. maple/rosewood neck, brass neck bolts with threaded inserts (a real bugger if not careful when installing), budget tremolo bridge...lipstick humbucker, vol/tone.

  • Yes, I was surprised too about the output. I've used single lipsticks before, and they usually measure around 3.4K ohms.

  • That is hot. I always thought lipstick pickups were lighter than most others.
  • The humbucker sounds sweet...clean or otherwise. It is hot, as wired now (15.6K). I did not install a coil tap (push/pull potentiometer) to split the two coils, but I may do that still if the potential buyer wants it that way.
