I followed the suggestion of a friend and modified an old guitar that was sitting in storage. The body was rebuilt by a friend years ago after the original was destroyed. I took off the 1st, 2nd and 6th strings and tuned the A or 5th string to G, left the 4th in D and 3rd in G. Just started messing around on this. It is totally new to me, but I'm liking it. Just a primer till I actually have my first real CBG.

Yes, I realize there is still a significant difference with a CBG, but I wanted to get used to 3 strings and a different tuning as well as the slide. Thanks for the comment.

Nice Steve!
You could also tune it to open A tuning (aea) or open E tuning (beg#) too Steve.

A CBG will play and feel different to this but you're going to be a step ahead.
Thanks Uncle John, I'll check that out.
Off to a good start then. The vid that helped me most was knotlenny's CBG 101 at page top under resources and how to play.
