supposedly titebond lll has a working time of 6 minutes. so with many things i stretch a roll of electrical tape around as a clamp, wait 3 minutes, and add some real clamps. sometimes not, with hardwood i don't want to "glue starve" the joint. streched electrical tape is a gem.

a little bit. i try to do a quick clamp to clean up most of the squeeze out, but there is some sanding involved. oddly enough, most of the squeeze out sticks to the tape rather than the wood. i've just found it can be a great solution when the pieces aren't square. i don't know about this one, with the abby normal fretboard. it was razor straight with a rule on the frets, but i glued it (this photo) to at the bottom of a factory neck, the one i cut the fretboard off, because i loved the "swirly" oak, forget what it's called. anyway, now it's got a bit of relief, before strings. i maybe should have stick to making my own neck.

Good ideas Daniel. What about the squeeze out? Does the tape smear it all over?
