On the sound post I just glue one end onto the lid just under the treble side of the bridge. But the high e string sounds a little quiet to me. With the strut on the bottom of the box, it may be muting the e string, so I may try something different on the next one.
I put a bass bar on the bass side too.
Thanks for the kudos guys, but I can't take credit for the design. The fellow at carolinafiddle.com makes 'em just like this, and shows how he makes them. I just followed his lead.
this is a beautiful work of art, it almost looks like it could fly. i know instruments are not supposed to fly, i,ll bet it plays real fine johnny. you must have put a lot of thought into this project with results like this, how does it sound,compared to a regular violin/fiddle? i,ll bet it is a lot louder.
