  • Hi John, Well that was the thinking. But when I slid the posts in just to check the first fit -- they went in smooth with no effort and there's no rocking or angle on the posts under tension. (That little soft rim at the edges of the holes only goes down a 16th" but it's tight the rest of the way...for sure it is a little stiff when tuning...but luckily once in tune it stays in tune no matter how much I beat on it....so that's why I was thinking maybe just let this one be 'caveman' CBG. and maybe tech out a few things on the next ones....
  • If you don't put in the ferrules you may find that the posts pull sideways under tension and either the strings will go out of tune or the posts will look crooked. Regards John D
