thanks! I'm loving this build...might make it a four stringer --- I've been doing a back-and-forth thing of scraping, chipping, sanding, thin varnish, etc...while doing the stain and finish to give it a organic relic'd used/refurb'd/used/refurb'd vibe --- the body and sides look about fifty years old of hard road use and it hasn't been finished. Body was from a kid's uke, some heinous blue-burst color, I shot it w black primer, a few blasts of gold, flat black overall (beat it up in-between stages) --- I carefully tore the top off the body, cut slots for the neck to sit in, put a couple support blocks, layered glue and cigar box liner veneers in a three inch inner side patch to support the input jack... so the trapeze bridge was from the original uke, the grill I found at a scrap yard (I'm hoping to find more, I think it might be from industrial kitchen sieve??)... just need to cut the nut/slot, do fret markers, and wire it up. (and THEN try to customize a bridge depending on how it strings up.
