The cigar box was given to me by Eugene Debs. On Christmas eve, 1918, Debs and I shared a freezing jail cell and a stogie. As we huddled under our thread-worn blankets, I promised I would champion his message of peace and economic justice through song. This guitar is my tribute to him (the tribute part is true, the jail cell part is closer to memoir in the style of Jim Frey).
