  Hi Jimi, thanks for the friendship. regarding friction tuners, that's exactly what they are... held with friction. The critical point is making the taper of the peg and the hole exactly the same. This can be quite tricky by hand (although that's how i did my first couple) but you can get specially shaped reamers and peg sharpeners... but they can be a bit pricey. But hey the old guys up in the mountains did it with a bowie knife... have fun.
