  • I'm using the same material. I get mine from Carr's Hobby shop here in Duluth. They sell both basswood and spruce. I like the spruce a lot, but the basswood is fine. The hobby shop has big bags of scrap bracewood in various lengths and profile. Cheap for sure. Carr's Hobby is a fabulous hobby shop going back to the 50's. I have toy trains too and Carr's is full of em.

  • Thanks Dave, I use 1/4 by 1/2 Basswood. You can get it pretty cheap and easily at college bookstores as it is for people that build scale models and scenes. It is the same wood used in alot of standard guitar bracing. I Like to watch alot of classical guitar builders, they are a wealth of knowledge and are essentially building the same thing we are with more strings....and some tasty french polish.

  • Sturdy bullwork. Thanks for the work in process.
