I just realised that for some reason my original message with the first pic didn't appear.
Bought the cab at the bootfair for £2 thinking it would probably have a naff or shot speaker and to my delight discovered a 12" Celestion in there !! along with the speaker matching transformer.
Not sure how to connect it up as a cab for my Fender Greta valve amp, but a friend seems to think the way it's already wired up should be ok, as most amps these days require 8 ohms and it looks like it's connected for 7.5 to 15

Hi Wes,
I wired up a jack socket to it this morning and tried the rec out from my Roland Micro cube.
It worked, but it was much quieter than the Micro cube's own little speaker !
I presumed the + went to the 7.5 ohm connection and - went to the terminal marled "com"
Was that correct? or am I a dumb arse :o)

and here's a pic of the transformer
Looks good and reminds me of some Maddog has made.
Hi Uncle John,
Here's a pic of the speaker, No markings on it to say what Ohm rating it is though.
Nice. Looks like an old PA speaker. Give us some description?
