Cardboard Fuentes

  • Oh, and the saddle is a "nickel" hinge pin from home depot.  Head cut off, one side filed flat, the other filed for string slots.  HD had these on sale for 98 cents for a package of three, so I grabbed a handful.

  • Those are honest-to-goodness string ferrules from CBGitty!  The tailpiece wasn't quite thick enough in my opinion for the classic end pins I originally had in mind.  That, and the ferrules tie in nicely with the rest of the nickel & chrome hardware.  The end pins looked a bit... uppity.

  • Pressed fiber sounds good.   What are the metal barrels the strings are coming out of?

  • Very nice job. Love the design for the bridge and tailpiece.
