Thank you Vinnie, I've been definitely trying to figure out placements for art on boxes the only one i tried so far was on the inner cover of a box so ya dont get to see it that often but after seeing carelessjohn's outrageous boxes i am truly inspired so keep your eyes out cause i dont plan on stoppin buildin any time soon
Thank you for the good advice Smilingdog I will definitely be looking into this a little deeper, I've only been buildin and playin about 7 months or so but it is my addiction now and plan to be around on the site alot so If you are planning more events in the future keep me in mind and maybe we can work sumthing out, and with the cigar boxes I painted one with Fred McDowell on the inside it was a good experiment as i dont usually paint and when i do its not usually on wood but it turned out pretty so-so but i have alot of ideas on fancying up sum boxes and like i said i 'm addicted so you'll be seeing alot more of my stuff on here
There are always annual events and new ones poppy up. If it were me, I'd mock up a poster after reviewing previous event posters, then post up your example here and start your self a website or you tube it. Add as many tag as possible to link your work. Wish I'd have know you two weeks ago, we might have used your art on the St. Louis festival coming in June. You might consider drawing directly onto cigar boxes and coating them protection. These would be fun and might sell well.
Thank you Craig, Smilingdog Yes I do think about it,And would love to have the opportunity to do a poster or whatnot for an event, speaking of that what do u think would be the best way to get into that, find an event i like and just draw what i think is cool for it and send them a copy or contact the event first and find out what they want? And to Uncle John its my favorite ol bluesman and besides seasick steve the other reason i got into cbgs Mississippi Fred McDowell
