Uncle John & Maddog: Funny... Any fears i would have of "showing off" would be quickly dispelled as soon as I start playing. I'll try those tunings, thanks guys.
I had one for a while with GDg and DGb - both open Gs - a low one and high one. Worked pretty well and was practical. This next is stupid - I felt like a show off with a double neck and eventually robbed the necks for singles.
I haven't done a double yet but I know some guys will tune one to a different tuning and use it as a drone. Maybe tune the top to DAD and the bottom GDG? Might sound kinda cool with the low in the background with the highs for the main.
Thanks Maddog and Uncle John. Chuck the tuning is D-A-D on both necks. I put a full set of heavy electric strings (12's). So I've also tried it with standard E-A-D-G-B-E tuning. It's fun and a little maddening to try to jump back and forth between the necks to play standard 6 string tunes, so maybe I'll stay with open tuning on both necks. Any suggestions?

When you put those 2 flatpups on there be careful, she might just spontaneously combust :-)
Really nice. Love the wood patina.
