    Oh ok I didnt realise there was a truss rod as wel Jon.

    I think it will be ok because of the screws holding the channel to mounting blocks on the bottom of the box. The fallback plan is to remove the real and install a steel truss rod hidden inside. I'll let you know how it works out. :)

    Nice Jon. are yopu concerned that the aluminum channel may bend at the box without the full length of wood supporting it?
