  • Thanks Henry I have seen your builds and love them and your music as well. The bass is test fitted with a piezo taped to the back for now I will be embedding it between the pass through neck and body at the bridge. As for the pickup thing I have been out of work for 1 year and its getting tight so until I get some 42 gauge wire and magnets winding them is on hold. As for the design it has a story to it I like all my builds to have meaning or I would just go buy them. The story goes like this I was downsized July 2009 I cleaned out my desk and was walked to the gate as soon as I got home my dad (Fred) called me to tell me he had cancer #5 spread all over. So my sister and I spent everyday with him at his home till he pass on January 12 2010. I feel good about how it turned out and a bit bluesy too. So a few weeks ago we where cleaning out his house and in the basement laying on the floor was this chunk on 2x6 and a stick (desk post) a light went off in my head kind of like your avatar;) Started the build and the tombstone design came to me. It's now the Deadwood Fred Tombstone bass. We played the bagpipe version of amazing grace the moment he passed as my sister and I stood over his bed. So I recorded a short version of amazing grace for my sister the other night on my patio using my CBG and the deadwood bass it not so good but we like it. I will post it for you. Thanks again. P.S. The thunder in the song was recorded from my front porch.

  • I like this! How does it sound? Are you going to add pick ups to it? (I'm assuming yes, being that this is a solid body build.) Nice work and concept!
