This is the classic ghetto DIY pickup. Bought a wall wart transformer at a thrift store and salvaged the copper wire. Wound it on a sewing machine (!), wrapped it with hockey tape and potted it in my wife's Scentcy for a while. Core is a sawed-off bolt. I've since swapped out the hd magnet for a couple of the Harbor Freight button magnets.
Output is a little weak overall but tone is good... I guess. One string, no body, eyebolt tuner, pickle jar for a bridge. Define "good" for me please :-) Maybe I'll record it soon and let everyone else be the judge.
