Jabes, the pickin was poor at the scrap pile today, so I went in and bought some great planks for my next efforts. A beautiful yellow poplar slab for a lap steel, a cherry slab for a solid body electric and a great chunk of Mahogany for two necks plus some Mahogany buck boards (in a bin for $1 each). These two boards will laminate with something like maple between for a fancy neck. I'm set for more fun even though it cost $36. I showed the guys there my boxy dulcimer which came almost entirely from their scrap pile. They liked that.
Thankyou to 'the phrygian kids' group 'solid body city' for getting me moving on this ,I'd had this lump of wood for about 3 years,I only discovered CBN in feb 2011.....;)
I go past my local lumber merchant on the way to music on Monday nights. I see there's a new pile of scraps for me to glean from today. Oh boy!! I love free wood.
