Dad's Birthday Guitar

I built this for my Dad's birthday. 23.5" scale, white oak neck and fingerboard. The neck is painted gloss black. The string tree is made from a stainless steel serving spoon I got at Dollar Tree.

    I never used it without the tree. The neck and head are straight (no angle), so I put the string tree on to keep the strings below the nut.

    I love the spoon idea, it looks very nice. But talking about the sound, did you notice any difference without the string tree?
