I’m not sure if this is called a tailpiece or saddle, maybe someone could sort this out for me. It’s cut from 20 gauge brass and needs a bit more work.

Very nice tail. It’s a tailpiece. If it had a bridge function it could have a saddle. The saddle is usually a bone strip that rides on a wood bridge, often in a slot across the bridge. The strings ride across the saddle from the tailpiece to the nut and tuning pegs.

Tail piece and a nice one too. I like cutting my own too or, on my last build, using a piece from a colander.
