I did the electronics today on my Immigrant reso. It worked great out of the box but failed when installed. I've redone all the solders, but no luck. Shows everything working on my multimeter. Guess it doesn't want to be electrified.... for now.

Gary, I would have used the bridge position but that would be in my resonator. I needed to put it on the top somewhere. I could simply press the peiso down on the top and move it around till the sound was loudest when tapping the reso cover plate. It works, when it works LOL!
I do have a question: when trying to locate the "best position", do you thump the box lid as you move the piezo around? I generally just take the easy, not necessarily optimized, approach - and mount it near the bass string end of whatever bridge I'm using. Interested in learning new methods!
Hmmmmm.... This is another example of the hidden bummer factor. Tends to raise its ugly head from time to time, especially when soldering or plumbing is involved. Good luck with the fix!

by the way, it sounded great when tested on the reso before installation. I just held the peiso on the top and moved it around to find the best spot.
