Phew...it's done at last! My first combo - BluesBaby chassis, with all the options...fat, presence & blackface switches, Accutronics spring Reverb, Eminence Legend 12" 50 speaker. Baltic birch cabinet, vintage tweed covered and trad. shellac lacquered finish. It's got a great sound, and goodness me, it is loud for 22Watts!!! It's designed to go head to head with the Fender Blues Junior and give it a good thrashing, and having tested it side by side with the Fender I reckon it does the job...and then some. Louder, punchier and more versatile...I'm well pleased. I just need to take a pause, figure out the retail price..and start taking orders.

No valves in this..no 19th century technology! I love my old Fender 75 valve combo, but it weighs a ton and it's noisy. This is designed by the solid state amp designer, Steward Ward of Session amps....people like Eric Clapton and Jan Akkerman used Stewart's Sessionette and Rockette amps, and the Sessionette 75 is my regular gigging amp (or was until I put this together). This thing doesn't need any pedals or boost or mods to do the job, it's designed from the ground up to kick ass. As I say, I love my old valve amp, but this is compact, rock solid, sounds great and is freaking loud...all the attributes you need for a real-world gigging amp. I don't go in for all that valve versus solid state argument...I go for what works and what' s practical. Fancy boutique valve amps are are all well and good if you are a bedroom player or if don't have to lug them up and down endless flights of stairs or expose the thing to the rigours of European touring. Tell me how great valve combos are after they've been knocked off the stage, dropped out of the back door of the van and so on and you've had to carry it 200 metres from where you've managed to park to some back street gig in Bremen.
Will you be pricing in pounds, or have US distribution? I'd like to reserve one in 110V, after you feel it's been Bellified sufficiently. PM me, and we can discuss further if needed.
Hi, I'll be giving it it's first shakedown this weekend...and a certain HB has expressed an interest in it, so we'll see if he likes it. Once it's fully road tested I'll be taking orders - available in 240/220V and 110V versions. I've still to determine the final price, but think of a Fender Blues Junior plus the tweed cabinet option and that will get you in the right sort of territory price-wise.
