  • Cedar chicken beaks add volume and sustain.
  • It is Denbo. I had a pet hen “Henrietta” when I lived in Ohio. I raised 100 chickens and her story is long one.  I’ll tell it sometime. :D)

  • I love your idea Tim. However I just put in Abalone marker dots with a brown watercolor ring around. I thought it right since I have the dots for fret markers an I love Abalone. I just posted the result. If I had more time I would have made porcelain eyes with glazed detail. I think I’ll make such eyes for the next project.

  • I think it’s a Henock or Cokhen Unc. Kind of trans Chicken. Crows “Cock a doodley Doo”.
  • Super Cool. An idea for the eyes if I can be so bold to give a suggestion to a master builder.
A really easy inlay using 2 part casting resin mixed with whatever color maybe even a different sawdust. Just cut in the shape of the eye about an eighth inch deep, fill it a little proud, let it cure and sand it flush with fine grit and polish it with fine steel wool.
  • Great start, but don't get cocky.
